The Flu and the Storm
Megan and I have the flu. She has no fever and has been vomiting for 36 hours and I have not been vomiting although my stomach feels shaky and have had fevers up to 103.2. It sucks and is a fine tradition for me. Every year at the end of the year when I take some time off, I get sick, it’s happened since 2005 and I’m as thrilled as I could be about it.
I played with a Blackberry Storm at a Verizon store this week. The sales clerk was showing me each and every feature and had obviously been trained on how his phone outperforms the AT&T Apple i-Phone.
Sorry Charlie…
The Storm is a mangled, counter-intuitive piece of garbage compared to the iPhone. Mail on the iPhone is better, navigation on the iPhone is better, calendar on the iPhone is better, SMS on the iPhone is better, the phone features of the iPhone are better, the web experience on the iPhone is better, the media experience on the iPhone is better and that’s before you jump into all of the third party application.
There is no comparison. The Storm is difficult to navigate and seemed like it was very slow, hard to get out of certain screens and in general not laid out in a nice, user friendly way.
My prediction is that this phone will have a short shelf life and RIM will go back to making hand held business sets with good keyboards after this little foray into territory where they are completely in over their head…

Want to believe that this is a better thing but have to wait and see, I don’t like these bullies…
